Once upon a time, there was a girl named Diana. She loved ballet and practised it regularly, hoping to become a great ballerina dancer. One day, her school organised a talent show and it was announced that the winners would get to travel abroad for the finals. Diana was very excited and she started training very hard.
When the big day came, she was ready. Diana went on stage with confidence and danced beautifully, emerging victorious. She was selected for the competition abroad!
A happy Diana proceeded for her trip abroad and was surprised to see her competitor Emma, a brilliant dancer. This, for some reason, upset Diana and she was worried if she would lose to Emma, who she knew was a better dancer.
In the rehearsals for the competition, all the dancers practised well and managed to balance themselves on their tippy toes but Diana lost concentration and slipped. She said that it’s really hard to dance on one’s tippy toes but one of the participants, her friend, reassured her that she is a very good dancer and shouldn’t give up so easily. This instantly lifted Diana’s confidence levels and she continued her practice.
In one of the sessions, Emma came up to her and asked, “Why didn’t you fall?” Emma was angry and said, “I think I’m a really good dancer. That’s why.” After saying this, Diana walked away.
The next day, when Emma and Diana were practising Emma asked her teacher if she could dance with Emma. The teacher agreed and put Emma next to her friend in the dance troupe.
The next day, during the finals, Emma danced with a lot of joy and happiness while Diana, too, danced gracefully. To Diana’s surprise, she won the competition. Her joy knew no bounds. When she was packing her stuff and getting ready to return, she saw Emma crying. Diana immediately went up to Emma and asked her why she was crying. Emma replied that she really wanted to win the competition. Diana was sad to hear this and didn’t know what to say. After pausing for a while, she said she also thought Emma would have won the competition.
Then Diana said, “Why don’t we become good friends instead of competitors?” Diana then showed Emma some of her best moves and dance steps and Emma did the same. It was then both of them realised that they enjoy each other’s company. Thereafter, they started doing many ballet competitions together. Thus, they became the famous ballerinas.
